Recognition of Strategic Partner Certification
A NACC member who is certified through one of the Strategic Partners in Spiritual Care may apply to have his/her certification recognized by the NACC. Strategic Partners approved for recognition of certification by the NACC are listed below.
Board Certified Chaplain (BCC):

- National Conference of Veterans’ Affairs Catholic Chaplains (NCVACC)

Prerequisites for Recognition of Certification
- Be a Roman Catholic or member of one of the churches in union with Rome
- Be a member of the NACC at the Chaplaincy Ministry level
- Documented proof of membership and valid certification by one of the accepted strategic partners

If you meet the prerequisites and are ready to have your certification recognized, you need to download the Recognition of Certification Application Materials and prepare your application portfolio. This download will contain the following:

- Application Form
- Templates for Letters of Recommendation
- Essay Templates
Please use the most recent version of the Application Materials when applying for certification. With each new application cycle, important changes are applied to the instructions and essay templates. Please view this change log for a summary of recent changes.
The Recognition of Certification Instruction Booklet will guide you through the application process and clearly outline all the requirements for your application portfolio.
Please note that all letters of recommendation should be addressed to the current Chair of the NACC Certification Commission: Mr. Gary A. Weisbrich BCC-PCHAC.
Prior to submitting your application materials, the Applicant must complete an eLearning module on the Ethical and Religious Directives published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and pass a ten (10) question Post-Test. The Applicant must successfully pass the test with a score of 80% or higher.
Once all of your materials are completed, click on the button below to submit your application portfolio.
After your application materials are submitted, the NACC will review your portfolio to ensure that all submission requirements have been met and forward them to the Certification Commission for review. The Certification Commission’s decision to grant or to deny certification will be communicated to you within thirty (30) days of the Certification Commission’s action.
