Staff Chaplain – Women/Infants

Full-time position with Ascension Wisconsin Spiritual Care located at St. Joseph Hospital. Join a dynamic, professional team of board certified chaplains committed to excellence and innovation in Spiritual Care.
Primary responsibilities:
- Units: Antepartum, L&D, Post-partum/Family Birth, NICU, Women’s Outpatient Services, Day Surgery, Perinatal Loss/Bereavement program
- Provide religious and spiritual care to patients, families, and associates, respecting all spiritual orientations and cultures
- Serve families who have experienced perinatal loss and provide bereavement follow-up
- Participate and collaborate with others in the delivery of holistic care
- Provide rituals, sacraments, blessings, and annual memorial service
- Will participate in on-call rotation with other chaplains in metro region
- Must be committed to living our Mission and Values; guided by the Ethical & Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare
Education and experience:
- Board Certification from the ACPE, APC, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or job transfer (or obtained within two years of hire or job transfer; risking termination if not obtained within timeframe).
- For those not board certified at time of hire or job transfer, ecclesiastical endorsement is required.
- Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or ministry related field from an accredited school is required.
- 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by ACPE is required with commitment to get the 4th unit; 4 units strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain is preferred; must have significant experience serving Women/Infant population.
- Qualified candidates are eligible for $2000 sign-on bonus.
