O Beloved King of the Seasons

Summertime,

You have emerged in a blaze of glory through the burning warmth of sunshine to comfort our lives, color our bodies and free our souls to return to the carefree childhood days of joy and wonder.

With music and festivals, ice cream and picnics, carnivals, and barbecues, You fill our souls with pure joy poured down from above. As our ears welcome the sounds of summer melodies, our taste buds awaken to the sweet, tart samplings of lemonade, and our toes kick up hot grains of sand on the beach, may our hearts remain forever in Your care and ever awakened to the sacred beauty of creation.

Blessed are those, O Divine Creator, whose spirits remain pure as the blue sky above and free to soar as on eagle’s wings.

Blessed are those who celebrate the dawn of a fresh new day with anticipation and wonder.

And blessed are those in body, mind and spirit whose lives mirror the image of You, who are Love.

O God, liberator of our souls, in appreciation and gratefulness for the gift of freedom You give to us, may each breath we take and each beat of our heart seek to follow Your all-holy will until our souls enter into eternal glory with You forever.
