St. Francis of Assisi Feast Day Reflection

All Creation is birthed by God

For St. Francis, all Creation was sacred

To the birds he shared the Word of God

            To the leper he kissed, he expressed God’s love

            To the Sultan of Egypt, he pleaded for peace as he risked his life

He abandoned all wealth and married Lady Poverty

He felt God’s presence throughout all Creation

His goal, to be more like Jesus …

            In the end, he’s a model for all humankind
